What we collect
When you create an account, we collect your email address, username, required location, authentication information, and whether you choose to receive announcements. You can edit your location later in Account Settings. If you upload a profile picture, we store that image. We also store the music you like, collections you save, and playlists you create so those features work in your account. If you allow analytics, when a song plays long enough to count as a listen we record the song, time, page, listening duration, and member account identifier. Private administrator analytics may display your username and saved location with that activity. For guests, location remains a broad area inferred from the device time zone. We do not store precise coordinates or raw IP addresses for listening analytics.
How we use your information
We use this information to create and secure your account, provide the member dashboard and library features, understand aggregate song and regional listening activity, send account-related messages such as confirmation and password-reset emails, and send announcements only when you opt in.
Service providers
We use Supabase to provide authentication, database, and file-storage services. If you choose Google sign-in, Google processes your sign-in according to its own privacy policy. We do not sell personal information.
Your choices
Essential browser storage supports features such as authentication, playback preferences, and your saved cookie choice. Listening analytics are optional and remain off unless you select “Allow analytics.” You can accept, decline, or change that choice at any time with the “Cookie choices” button on the site. Declining analytics does not affect music playback or account access.
You can change your username, profile picture, and announcement preference from Account Settings. You can opt out of announcements at any time without affecting your account. For questions about your information or a request to access, correct, or delete it, please contact the Lamplit Music site operator.
Data retention and security
We keep account information while your account is active and as needed to operate, secure, and meet legal obligations. We use access controls designed to limit member data to authorized users, but no online service can guarantee absolute security.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the service changes. We will post the updated policy here and revise the effective date.
